Helium is not just another retro tone stompbox. Its
'Texture' and 'Mode' switches will take your sound from the

in your original note as clean or crunchy as the fans demand.

Chaos is an all analog device that distorts and contorts
like guilty gossip in the Choir Room, after a long-winded
sermon. The controls on Chaos react acutely with those on
your instrument, and respond to your knowing touch to create
rich flavors of ring modulation, filter sweeps, octave and
higher-overtones, synth-like timbres--animating and elevating
sounds--that no amp, pedal, processor or plugin, this side
of paradise, can produce.
All this from a mere distortion pedals? Believe that. Rock

on the disc is recorded through the Chaos. The complete signal
chain was my guitar (with humbuckers) into the Chaos, a delay
pedal and my preamp (ACT MP100) set clean, and that's it.
No compression, no matter what your ears tell you, or what
mine told me. The DM groove is processed by Chaos in a side
chain; the changes you hear as the track runs are different
Entropy and Drive levels (Drive mostly at the end) and varying
the blend of straight and effected signals."
Editor's note: I thoroughly enjoyed slicing and dicing (just a bit :<0) these flavorfully chewy and long-lasting performances–turns out Mr. Wolfgram can play just a little Analog peoples!

H E L I U M
knobs - DRIVE - controls distortion of the fundamental
and sustain of the octave
MIX - controls blend of octave and fundamental from octave
alone (He) to fundamental (Oz)
VOLUME - controls overall level of effect to balance or contrast
with bypass mode
switches - OCTAVE - selects the dynamic character of
the octave signal
VINTAGE - fast attack with abrupt decay, especially at low
drive settings
WOLF - softer attack with a sustain that "blooms"
or "breathes" at higher drive settings
TEXTURE - shapes the timbre of the octave signal
COARSE - bright, cuts through even at low level
FULL - unmodified vintage octave tone
SMOOTH - sweet, singing tone
C H A O S
knobs - DRIVE - controls gain from subtle breakup to
sustained distortion
ENTROPY - controls harmonic complexity of the distortion:
low levels create a grainy quality like some old fuzztones,
higher settings can suggest synth-like sounds, ring modulation,
even filter sweeps
VOLUME - controls overall effect level to balance or contrast
with bypass mode
switches - DIMENSION - determines the character of
the Entropy control
2ND - warmer, more organic. Listen for a hint of an upper
octave
3RD - hollow, more synth-like at higer Entropy levels
HAIR - creates a little extra "edge"--enhances pseudo
filter sweep effects
