Want that spongy rubbery (VCA) quality the SE-1X and the MIDIMINI posses? And a true sine wave–like the Mini–from Oscillator 1? DONE. The "MIDIMINIAFY" mod. brings a fully discrete VCA–the ATC employs a transistor array in its VCA–and pure sine wave generation to the ATC and OMEGA SERIES** platform (OSC 1's traingle gets converted). That's correct: both the "1", its X-Model, and the Omega can swing warmer, drop deeper, speaker hug and pipe rattle as convincingly as the SE-1X & MIDIMINI. Think of it this way: you're combining the comfort, familiarity and attainments of your homeland, with the exotic smile and curvy company of a richly bronzed women whose speech is accented with the promise of otherworldly initiation and invitation... well maybe it's more like a Reese's® ;<0

One ingenious PC board of Tim Caswell's imagining takes you there. Factory installation recommended. Available in kit form for the ATC and its handy hardy owners.

**Large Chassis only, and the Omega OSC. 1 Sinewave mod. must be purchased separately; you also have to be very nice to may brother Greg for him to consider it ;<)

p.s. 6-21-05 Clarification: Eivind Fivelsdal [smartly] wrote: "... I thought old grandad the minimoog used a triangle... i.e. it can't produce a pure sine. So that part of the mod would be moving away from the "original" design... or it maybe me who knows too little about the SE work....

I answered:

MIDIMINIODYSSEYAFY, or MIDIMINIOMEGAMODATCAFY (as we are now modding the OMEGA/ATC triangle wave into a sine) would read a little long; but the sinewave point is well taken. The round bottom tone of the sine combines well with our rather prominent sawtooth; and we have never forgotten how sweet Rick Shannon's ARP Odyssey magic lead and bass patches of the mid to late 80's sounded, when our mutual friend and much missed savant (doesn't say convey nearly enough about our loss) Jeffrey David Barr could still be heard bringing Rach.'s 2nd, Scarlatti, J.S.B., and Johannes Brahms' Sonatas for Clarinet & Piano (among others) to life with his superb fingers and immaculate sensitivity-I didn't mention his formidable jazz, greasy blues and 70's funk chops.

"In this tomb a child rests who, in spite of his youth, spoke brillamment...."
